Статья посвящена проблеме развития иноязычной коммуникативно-культурной компетенции студентов младших курсов в процессе изучения английского языка в техническом вузе. В качестве одного из методов, способствующих повышению уровня владения искомым видом компетенции обучаемыми, рассматривается метод проектов. В статье представлено описание требований и этапов выполнения проекта, предложена возможная модель реализации проектной работы в рамках изучения одного из модулей дисциплины «Иностранный язык».

The article is devoted to the problem of foreign language communicative and cultural competence development of junior students in the process of the English language studying in a technical higher education establishment. Method of projects is considered as one of the methods which favour the increase of students' skill level of sought-for type of competence. The authors present the description of requirements and stages of the project execution, suggest the possible model of project work realization within the scope of studying one of the modules of the discipline "Foreign language".
